Sheffield City Council is working with Hyperoptic, an internet provider, to give 12 months' free broadband for some people who live in social housing in the city.

Who could get free internet access?

The Council is giving give free internet vouchers to people who they provide support services to, and who would benefit from being online.

What happens if you are offered free internet?

If you have been selected for a free internet voucher, the Council will send you a letter explaining how the scheme works. You will then get a letter from
Hyperoptic with a code included and details about how to activate the voucher. You should then contact Hyperoptic within 31 days to arrange for them to install the broadband, otherwise the voucher will run out.

What happens after the 12 month period?

If you want to carry on with your internet access, you then have to pay for it yourself. You don't have to buy this from Hyperoptic.

You can contact the Council to ask any questions about this scheme here.
