We also have been working alongside other self advocacy groups and organisations like the NHS. Our drama group called Pyjama Drama are made up with people with learning disabilities and Autism who are working on creating a performance based on their real life experiences.

Today South Yorkshire Police Neighbourhoods Inspectors for Sheffield City Centre and Mark Toyne our new hate crime coordinator, came to our meeting to listen to our concerns about how unsafe people with a learning disability are feeling in the town centre at the moment.

Learning disabilities self-advocacy group Sheffield Voices has expressed anger after an autism and learning disability unit in the city was closed to new admissions when it was rated “inadequate” by inspectors.
