Self Advocacy Meetings
Tuesday and Thursday mornings - These are our self-advocacy meetings where we come together to discuss issues that affect both and people with learning disabilities and Autism in general.
We also invite many researchers and other projects and organisations who want to talk to us about how we can change things and campaign for our rights. We operate an open-door policy where anyone with a learning disability or Autism can join in for free at any time.
just come along and join our chat! Please fill in the form on the bottom of page or press this link Contact Form
We have been shortlisted
We are thrilled that we have been shortlisted for the final for the Learning Disability and Autism Leaders Award 2021 for our work on raising awareness and challenging issues relating to bad practice and abuse of patients in inpatients units both in Sheffield and beyond.
Sheffield Voices has been nominated
Sheffield Voices has been nominated into the Learning Disability and Autism Leaders Award 2021 and we are very happy about this.
The Police comes to Sheffield Voices
Today South Yorkshire Police Neighbourhoods Inspectors for Sheffield City Centre and Mark Toyne our new hate crime coordinator, came to our meeting to listen to our concerns about how unsafe people with a learning disability are feeling in the town centre at the moment. We have noticed that there has been an increased number of people on the streets begging, drunk and using drugs and people in our group have reported to us that they are not feeling very safe.
