Big Voice Drama

Pyjama drama is our drama group for adults with learning disabilities at Sharrow Community Forum.

We started this group with funding from the arts council to put on plays and short videos. We focus our work on current issues affecting our community.

There are members that express themselves through group discussions, writing or by painting but some prefer to express themselves through drama and through performance a big message can be heard by many so this is definitely a brilliant way to get their point across.

Our first play was called 'Welcome to Sunny smiles care home' - Play about the 'Best' (Worst!) care home around!

This play focused on issues surrounding living in care homes and the lack of support people get.

You can watch the full play here Sunny Smiles Video

We have also made a film for the restraints reduction network about what restraints look like, and how this can escalate when people are not listened to.

We are currently working on our play 'Waiting Room Anonymous' about health inequalities people with learning disabilities face.

If you would like us to perform our plays or make content for you,  please get in touch using the Contact Form below.
